PET FRIENDLY HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION

Grampian Cottages, Hotels, Inns, B&B's, Holiday Parks and more accommodation in this lovely county, on the coast and in the countryside -  Grampian has it all...

Aberdeen is the sparkling jewel at the heart of the north-east of Scotland. A stylishly cosmopolitan city that is alive with energy and excitement, yet steeped in centuries of history and architectural acclaim. Surrounded by the natural wonders of the Aberdeenshire district, escaping from the vibrant city buzz couldn’t be simpler or more rewarding. The jagged outline of the Cairngorms is home to a plethora of wildlife, from roe deer and ospreys, to wild salmon and even golden eagles.

Built on one of Scotland’s strongest and most prominent industrial heritages, Aberdeen has long been the small city that, whilst forward thinking and dynamic in every sense, is still proud of its historic past. Still Europe's busiest fishing port, Peterhead is home to Scotland fishing industry, on a bustling day the fishmarket is an incredible site. Europe's busiest fishing port is home to over 400 boats, a bustling daily fish market and a 100-berth leisure Marina. The Maritime Heritage Centre tells the story of the local sailors, whalers and fisher folk through the years. Visit Arbuthnot Museum for depictions of the town's fishing and whaling history as Peterhead was originally a whaling port, until the whales left British shores for the safer frozen Arctic seas.

Just north of Peterhead lies the important RSPB Reserve, Loch of Strathbeg. A large and shallow loch, it is close to the Aberdeenshire coast and separated from the sea by sand dunes. Designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the loch is fringed by freshwater marshes, salt marsh, fen woodland and farmland. The size and coastal location of this loch make it important for migrating waterfowl, with more than 30,000 birds often present.

Nearby is Aden Country Park, once the grounds of one of Buchan's largest private estates. During almost 200 years of ownership the Russells of Aden transformed the bare landscape by energetic planting of trees and shrubs. Award-winning golden sandy beaches line the periphery of this major fishing port , a highlight being the first ever Scottish Lighthouse Museum.

Famous for its hospitality, Grampian offers a wide range of accommodation from cosy rural dog friendly cottages and coaching inns to 3 & 4 star hotels and B&B's many serving good home cooked food using local produce. Grampian a place to explore for you and your pet.
